BitPonies is a game centered around breedable, collectible and eventually raceable horses! Each BitPony is unique and completely owned by you! They cannot be cloned, taken away or destroyed.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a digitized form of money, while BitPonies is a cryptocollectible, an item you can keep that is rare and uniquely yours, like a baseball card.
Any BitPony you own belongs to you - no one else can own your BitPony unless you trade or grant it to them. Like any product or property you can own, the market price is determined by supply and demand.
It may be technically possible to use another browser, but we can't guarantee optimal performance on other browsers.
Since we use Metamask, the best platforms to use in order to play are Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.
Unfortunately, no. While you can access and browse the BitPonies website, but you can't interact with your BitPonies on mobile devices.
Yes, as long as your ether wallet is the same in each location.
In order to play BitPonies, you'll need a digital wallet. Your digital wallet will function like a bank account, meaning that you should do your best not to forget your password or seed words. We support Metamask. Like a bank account, a digital wallet is an important place for your currency to stay safe. Do not give out the password to your digital wallet under any circumstances. Once your wallet is set up, make sure to add money to it in order to start playing!
Instead of a password, many digital wallets use seed words, which let you restore your account in cases where you are locked out. Just remember to be careful with them: anyone that obtains your seed words can access your account and steal your assets. Save your seed words, and please don't share them with others.
Unfortunately, no. Digital wallets are independent programs that we do not in any way control, making it impossible for us to access your wallet.
A wallet address (e.g. 0xaba935f589805095a892ecefdb6eb83eff45d67) is essentially your wallet's name, functioning as a unique way to identify it. You can share the name freely with others. It is used to direct assets to your wallet.
Ether is a digital currency that powers the Ethereum network, which is what BitPonies is built on. Like any other currency, the value of Ether fluctuates with its value fluctuates in the market. You will need to convert your currency (e.g. USD, CAD, GBP) into ether to pay for things, like BitPonies, on the Ethereum network. Depending on the wallet and where you live, you may be able to buy currency directly. Unfortunately, you can't use USD/CAD to buy a BitPony directly: currencies need to be converted into ETH first. If your wallet doesn't let you buy currency, you will need to purchase ETH from an exchange, and then transfer the ETH from your exchange wallet to your digital wallet.
The very first time that you purchase ether, your exchange will ask to verify your identify. This process can take a little time - a day or so. If you need to link a bank account as opposed to a credit card, that may also take a few days, as your bank must verify the charges.
You can acquire your first BitPony through one of three methods:
Unfortunately, no. Recovering a Bitpony from another wallet is impossible.
Here's why: Our smart contracts secure each BitPonies so that the developers can't edit, access, or reassign them. This protects your BitPonies from hackers and anyone else who would steal them. Unfortunately, it also means we can't simply 'recover' a BitPony.
The first thing you need in order to breed BitPonies is a BitPony of your own. You can buy one on the market or another user can give you one as a gift. From there, you can either breed it with a BitPony from the siring auction, or with another BitPony that you already own. All BitPonies are able to participate in breeding as either a Sire or Dam, based on which you choose to play each role. However, a BitPony can only produce one new BitPony at a time. So your Dam can't Sire while they're in the middle of a pregnancy — and vice versa.
Each process varies depending on the BitPony. To monitor your BitPony’s cooldown process, click the clock icon.
There is a short list of restrictions that will keep you from breeding your BitPony:
